Brooklyn, NY – December 19, 2013 – Multi-talented Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter/producer, Alex Fitts (The KickDrums), has teamed up with MuteBoy to put together a new mixtape, “The Transparency Report, Vol. 1,” which premiered on Potholes In My Blog‘s Potholes Podcast today. Check out the mix Potholes calls, “expiremental” and “trippy” here: MuteBoy, also known as Jeffrey DiLorenzo, is the live bassist for The KickDrums, but has been making waves of his own in the Brooklyn music scene for his production/remix/engineering and will be releasing an album of original songs in early 2014. The KickDrums released their latest LP, “Thinking Out Loud”on October 8th via Hopeless Records to much critical acclaim for its genre-infusing sounds. NYLON Guys coined the effort as pushing “the limits of The KickDrums sound, with all the elements of ambient, electro, rock and hip-hop genres.” Purchase Thinking Out Loud on iTunes here:

About the new mix, Fitts explains, “We were just trying to make something fun that you could turn on at a party. Also something where we could jump all over the place and be creative. No rules or expectations. If we liked it, we rolled with it.”

 The KickDrums are led by singer, songwriter and producer Alex Fitts. Fitts began his career in Cleveland, Ohio producing hip hop tracks for local artist and quickly built a reputation as a “go to” producer for emerging talent.  His knack for blending hip-hop and alt rock scored him production placements with artists such as Kid Cudi, 50 Cent, Kanye West and Slaughterhouse. 

The KickDrums have been well known amongst the blog elite for the release of cross-genre mixtapes that not only showed how in tune they are to emerging music but also showcased the future of their sound.  They have grown into a distinctive sound and earned their space in the upper echelon of musicians dedicated to pushing creative boundaries.

 Featured by Nylon Magazine as their “Band Crush”, Consequence of Sound, Prefix Mag, The Music Ninja and more, The Kickdrums have made waves when heavyweights such as RZA, ASAP Rocky and Freddie Gibbs began to take notice and collaborations started to happen.
