The Tossers “The Emerald City” Album Review

The Tossers, a six-piece Celtic punk band from Chicago, Illinois finally have a new album coming out, set to release on March 5th, 2013. Their last full-length album, On A Fine Spring Evening, was released in October of 2008, so their die-hard fans have been waiting a while to hear from them. This album was definitely worth the 4 year wait; both new and old fans are sure to enjoy. Their Irish folk sound has spread around the world for 20 years now, as the band formed in 1993. If you are a fan of Dropkick Murphy’s, Flogging Molly, or Mumford & Sons, you will surely enjoy this cultured sound. You’ll sure want a drink of whiskey after listening to The Tossers’ new album, The Emerald City. This new full-length album includes 14 melodic songs that are sure to fulfill your punk and folk music needs. These songs are sure to become your new favorite drinking songs, whether it is whiskey or not. The upbeat sounds of the fiddle and the tin whistle make your inner Irish come out to dance the night away. These songs are sure to put you in a good mood, with their singer, Tony Duggins’s strong rasp and mandolin abilities. The band is also comprised of Aaron Duggins on the tin whistle, Mike Pawula on guitar, Rebecca Manthe playing the fiddle, Bones on drums, and Peter Muschong on bass. Together, they provide folk ballads that are sure to get the party started at an Irish pub or wherever you want your Celtic roots to show. Whether you’re Irish or not, you’ll be sure to enjoy their whiskey-infused punk melodies. The excitement doesn’t end with their album release; check out their upcoming tour starting the day the album comes out!
