John & Brittany Premiere New Video for “Paper Planes”

Philadelphia, PA – June 4, 2013 – Philadelphia’s most unique songwriting duo, John & Brittany, have premiered their video for hit track “Paper Planes” off their 2013 album, Start Sinning, on ArtisDirect.com on May 30th. John & Brittany tell us, “”Paper Planes” is our first music video, and it’s about our inspirations and aspirations. It’s also a pretty accurate portrayal of the dynamic in John & Brittany; we fight a lot but it’s all for the love of rock n’ roll. The video for “Paper Planes” is just one look into this unique duo’s writing process and imagination as the song takes over reality, one scene at a time!

In less than two years since dropping their debut EP in the summer of 2011, John & Brittany, consisting of John Faye and Brittany Rotondo, have risen from the city’s thriving open mic circuit to become a serious rock act to contend with. The duo has already shared stages with the likes of The Smithereens, Everclear, Gin Blossoms, and Matthew Sweet, in addition to headlining their own shows at venues such as World Cafe Live and the Theatre of the Living Arts.

At the top of 2013, John & Brittany released Start Sinning, a 32-minute musical blitzkrieg that, at its core, is about the discovery, or perhaps re-discovery, of the power of rock n’ roll. Inspired by their mutual love of punk and new wave, as well as songsmiths like Alejandro Escovedo and Jack White, John & Brittany create tunes and chemistry that are unforced and undeniable. Fan-funded with a Kickstarter campaign that raised over $11,000, the album is that rare combination of raw, powerful performance and razor-sharp song craft. When Start Sinning isn’t bringing you directly into John & Brittany’s post-Catholic confessional booth, with songs like “Dirty Little Magazine” and “Woe,” it spins vivid yarns with quirky characters like the strangely philosophical bank robber in”El Gato,” the arms-length “Gas Mask Queen,” who is at once a rock goddess and a rock casualty, and the slick southern grifter in “Mississippi Fred,” a foot-stomping blues rocker. “Zzzoloft” and “Paper Planes” draw on the duo’s joint obsession with 70′s New York, with a touch of Ramones and Lou Reed. The title track off Start Sinning has been featured on Little Steven’s Underground Garage as “Coolest Song in the World,” receiving airplay on Sirius/XM, as well as over 300 stations worldwide on LSUG’s syndicated weekly show.

Misser “Distancing” Review

image002

Misser is made up of members of the bands Transit and This Time Next Year. Tim Landers of Transit singings his heart out while he strums his guitar and the vocal performance provided by Brad Wiseman of This Time Next Year accompanies him. Prior to the release of Distancing, Misser released a three song ep, Problems Problems Problems then released their debut full length album, Every Day I Tell Myself I’m Going To Be A Better Person.

This is my first time listening to Distancing so far it’s amazing and will most likely end up being on repeat for the next few days.  The first track, “Goddamn, Salad Days” starts off with powerful vocals from both Tim and Brad, while still retaining the same sound as their previous material. This track will make current fans as well as new fans go crazy in the crowd. The second track, “Infrared”, features a steady beat and powerful lyrics from both vocalists who have different sounding voices that blend together so well helping to creating Misser’s unique sound. “Burn Out”, the third track off Distancing the guitars in the background blend together so perfectly. This song will make you tap your feet for sure. During the mid song it slows up and is well mixed in this track.

The second to last track is called “Alone, Die.”, with steady drum beats and guitar riffs that bring this song to your ears. This track is another foot tapper and also just shows that anything this band puts out, they give their all and it pays off by sounding absolutely amazing. “Slow It Down, Write It Out” closes out Distancing, this track is mellower than the rest of the album, with that unique sound that gives Misser its distinctive qualities.

For Fans of Transit, This Time Next Year, Long Lost, or Turnover, make sure you check out Distancing, I promise, you won’t regret it.

Purchase “Distancing” on their official website: http://riserecords.merchnow.com/search/?q=misser

You can also pick up their debut full length there too!

LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES to release second full-length album

LIKE MOTHS TO FLAMES to release second full-length album, “An Eye For An Eye” via Rise Records on July 9, 2013

image002

Like Moths To Flames will release their second full-length album An Eye For An Eye on July 9, worldwide through Rise Records.

“After almost two years, we are very excited to release our new record, An Eye For An Eye. We’ve had time to learn about the band and ultimately figure out the direction that we’d like to go musically. I think the record shows a lot of growth and progression as we went outside of our norm to try some different things for a few songs. We couldn’t be happier with the way the record turned out and can’t wait to share it with all of you,” states vocalist Chris Roetter.

An Eye For An Eye upholds Like Moths To Flames’ notoriously aggressive energy while revealing the band’s most exciting and heavy-hitting work to date. The new album showcases maturing song structures leading with sleek guitar melodies rolling into robust riffs that compliment Roetter’s signature raw textured vocals and merciless lyrics. Guest vocalists Shane Told of Silverstein on “Into The Ground” and Ahren Stringer of The Amity Affliction on “Lord of Bones” also add to the evolving dynamic of the album that sets it apart from previous releases.

The much-anticipated follow-up to the band’s 2011 debut When We Don’t Exist was once again recorded at Machine Shop Productions in Belleville, NJ with producer Will Putney (Miss May I, For Today, Suicide Silence).

Roetter comments, “After working with Will Putney at Machine Shop for our first album there was no question to where we would be recording the second. We spent the months of March and April at Machine Shop working on this album and once again the experience was great. Putney has always had a good grasp on where the band wants to go musically and what the band wants to do and he helps us to get there.”

With the new release underway the Ohio natives continue to gain momentum having been covered by the likes of Alternative Press, Outburn Magazine, Noisecreep, Revolver, etc. Relentless touring has also distinguished the band as steadfast travel warriors hitting the road cross country with Miss May I, Silverstein, We Came As Romans and peers alike as well as headlining the 2013 Rise Records Tour.

Like Moths To Flames can also be seen performing on the Monster Energy stage through the entirety of this summer’s Vans Warped Tour.

Orlando, FL – May 29, 2013 - The pop trio, know as Before You Exit, have released their video for hit single, “I Like That” exclusively onSeventeen.com today, May 29th! The band will be supporting Cody Simpson on his Summer Headline Tour, along with special guest, Ryan Beatty, which kicks off tomorrow, May 30th at The Moran Theatre in Jacksonville, FL. Just releasing their new EP, I Like Thaton February 4th,these young pop-rockers combine catchy hooks, charm, with the great musicianship to make an adorable group you will be seeing everywhere in 2013! Check out Before You Exit’s video for “I Like That” on Seventeen.com, here: http://bit.ly/17snSCH. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit: http://www.BeforeYouExit.com.

The Orlando-based band began a few years ago with brothers Connor McDonough, 19, (Vocals/Guitar) and Riley McDonough, 17, (Vocals), only recently did the band bring in younger brother Toby McDonough, 15, on vocals. Unlike many bands of brothers, Oasis and The Black Crowes come to mind, the trio work harmoniously. “We actually get along really well. We all have our thing and work in categories by preference,” Connor says. “I write vocal melodies, Riley writes lyrics, and Toby helps with both. There are never fights because each of us can do our own thing, but also contribute to each other.”

Just releasing their brand new EP in February 2013, the three brothers have crafted a soaring pop album of uplifting relationship songs that effortlessly blend sharp hooks with bright and buoyant rock. The album standout and first single, “I Like That”, is a tune with tenderly romantic lyrics and big pop-rock beat. Ryan Daly and Anthony Improgo, along with Connor McDonough, produced the new album. “They really listened to what we wanted to do and let us try out our ideas, no matter how crazy,” Connor says laughing. “Because of that, we feel really connected to the way the recording turned out,” Riley adds.

Before You Exit’s debut EP, Letting Go (March 2011), and most recent release, I Like That have been critically acclaimed by the likes of MTV, J-14, Seventeen, Teen Just Jared, Girls Life, just to name a few. The band has also gained a great buzz from touring in support of Allstar Weekend, All Time Low, Action Item, and more!

Conjuring up the optimism in the band’s name-inspired by the sentiment “make a difference before you exit“- the band works daily to make their way to the top but they never fail to stop and appreciate what has got them thus far. “There’s no way we’d be anywhere without our incredible fans. They are behind us every step of the way and are a huge piece of this band,” states youngest brother, Toby. In light of the many short lived and fly by night artists, this young, singer/songwriting, brother driven band, is one to be around for a while.

The I Won’t Hold This Against You cut is titled “Hindsight” and listeners will notice that it stands in stark contrast to the three already-released tracks from Light Years’ upcoming debut LP.

The three songs released so far – “Parking Lots,” “Nice To Know You” and “Put Myself Together” can be streamed via SoundCloud. These three songs can also be embedded on your website using SoundCloud’s embed code.
